head work

depends what stage you are going, mild, full race, few different options i think.. but around locally where im at , a GOOD shop charges $1100 for a mild port and polish, including angle valve job (bigger valves ) .. and full race and etc for $1600 .. make sure you got the bolt pattern to remove and install your heads. There's a guy on this forum that does the p&p work, you have to ship your heads to him , but i hear he does great work, and im sending mine to him soon too.

How do you bore your heads?

Figure $300-$700 labor on porting, depending how extensive you go, and how reputable the guy doing the work in. Add parts into that.

Send them to Lloyd Elliot. Do a search on him here and you'll find a lot of useful information.

It's about $900 for REV 2.00/1.57 valves, CM 612 spring, retainers, locks, porting, milling, cleaning and assembly.

I'm going to recommend Lloyd Elliot too, he did a good job on my heads, and he's a damn fine business man too.

Third lloyd. I haven't yet done business with him, but I'm very peculiar who works on my cars and parts when needbe, and he makes me very comfortable. Very educated approach, and very talented...he has many recommendations to his credit from members here. Gets great flow numbers out of LT1 heads...upwards of 270+, more than AFR's out of the box. Good prices too...having him do 2 sets of heads for me. I'd say go for it!
