LT1 Harland Shift Light Install!

Anybody here have any info on how to install this on an LT1. I need to know what wires to tap into (colors). For both 12V acc, and tach.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks

Re: LT1 Harland Shift Light Install!

I wired the red wire into my stereo power wire, the black into the stereo ground, and the green I plugged into my MSD box. Try www.shbox.com or google around which PCM wire you should tap into if you don't have an aftermarket ignition box. It's also reccomended that you ground directly to the chassis somewhere, but I didn't think that this light would draw enough amperage to make it worth the extra effort. Good luck.

Re: LT1 Harland Shift Light Install!

When I installed mine, I tapped into the PCM tach output to the instrument panel.

The PCM output is on pin 13 (red connector). It's a white wire that runs thru the firewall to connector C230 (blue) behind the passenger side kick panel inside the car. I tapped into the white wire coming out of the blue connector for the tach signal. For the power, I tapped into the "gages" circuit at the fuse panel on the side of the instrument panel. I connected the ground wire to an existing ground screw for another circuit that I found under the instument panel while I was running all the wiring.
