LT1 fluidampr question?

I just recently purchased a LT1 fluidampr and it appears that it already comes with the hub on it? I'm currently running a March underdrive power and amp series pulely set. Where the stock balancer sits on the pulley as a piggy back style where both the pulleys bolt onto the factory hub. How can i go about running the underdrive pulley w/ the balancer? Am i going to have to grind off a hub or try another balancer. Thanks for your help.

Re: LT1 fluidampr question?

If you're making enough power to need a Fluidampr (is it a "real" Fluidampr, or the rip-off sold as "Fluid Damper" on eBay?) you are wasting your time playing with an underdrive pulley. The pulley is worth 0.7 HP (yes, 7/10ths of one whole HP) according to the dyno test on ws6.com.

What is the diameter on the Fluidampr? If its smaller than the stock damper, it is already an U/D ratio. I know the ATI is available in two different diameters, which would in effect be the same as an U/D pulley.

The Real Fluidampr like I have is stock size. You can not use your U/D pullies with it

I miss my U/D pullies. they were worth a solid tenth at the track durring testing I could always use a tenth

Re: LT1 fluidampr question?

Nope, she's the real Fluidampr. 7.5" 18.1 SFI approved the $369 one. Yeah i know that the underdrive pulleys don't help much but I thought there was a way to use it. It seriously looks like I could turn it around backwards.....but theres to much of a taper where the built in crank snout goes to where the bolt heads won't fit up against it flush. Guess I gotta return my crank hub I just bought from GM. I hate reusing old stuff. And I guess I have to get a bigger washer and a smaller bolt. Thanks again guys.

And pretty much the real reason I got the fluidampr is i will be making sufficient power with the new motor, and the elastic band in my factory balancer have aged and cracked. So.... I say why buy something that gets the job done, when you can get it done better with extra added insurance

Re: LT1 fluidampr question?

lt1 fluidampr's should have the hub built in, having an extension housing thing to go over the crank. btw, not to jack the thread, but what did you guys use to install yours. my balancer installer kit was not long enough to fit all the way in the damper, so i can to draw it on with the single bolt that holds it on the crank.
