LT1 Fan problems

Good evening all, I need a little help with a fan problem

Heres the deal;

93 Z28 /w 95 LT1 engine
93 fans.
2x PCMforLess tunes

When I start the car the low speed fan turns on, it will stay on until I give it gas and then will turn off, once I stop and the engine is a idle the fan turns back on. The high speed fans still works like normal (when the car is up to the temp.)

Are there differences between the 93 and 95 fans?

Will a SLP or other fan switch eleminate this problem?

Thanks for any advice.

What temps did you have the fan set at to come on? I have a 1995 and my low speed fan doesnt kick on until 210 degrees witht he stock temp settings. I have a 160 degree thermostat and even with the needle just barely above the 160 mark that is 175 degrees (checked by scan tool) so maybe your fans are just kicing on to lower the temps.

I did have the temps lowered, I have the 160 thermostat, I am not sure what Bryan at PCMforLess set them to.

But I don't that thats the case because I have tried the stock and 2 of Bryan's tunes... same problem.

They come on as soon as I start the car, once I give it some gas the fan turns off... comes right back on if I let off the gas pedal... maybe I am just crazy

Re: LT1 Fan problems

Is there any way to see if the fan motor is going bad, it drives me crazy, it does sound like metal on metal grinding... can you just replace the motor or do you have to replace the entire assm?

Also does anyone know if the fan's were different from a 93-95?

Thanks again for the help guys, I really appricate it.

Re: LT1 Fan problems

I don't know any of that. I do know the fan setup was differnt. 93's have 2 realays and 95's have 3 relays. I believe the extra was added for the low speed fans rather than just a single fan running.
