Great comparison to read, glad you could do that.

Out of curiosity, what are your cam specs?

Re: LT1 EWP dyno results...

I hope people understand that this will vary from one setup to another before everyone jumps all over these things. (I would probably say that the power gained, if any, will be somewhat linear to the amount of power your car makes, so gains on a stock or bolt on car will be minimal.)

Also, for accurate results dyno runs must be done back to back. (ie. on the same day) If you did it on different days, the results will not be accurate.

Hopefully I'm not misunderstood. I'm not trying to bash them, but I will not put one on my car unless I ABSOLUTELY have to even if it means sacrificing a few HP.

Re: LT1 EWP dyno results...

...guess I should've put "your results may vary..." after I posted...It was same day/dyno and it was 9-10 rwhp across the whole tested rpm range. I was encouraged by the results, so I passed them along. I was on the fence for years brfore I made the switch...Just trying to eek every last little bit of power out of my combo...Will be testing the difference between the new Kooks stepped LTs and my old LPE shorties nest week...

There are some warning systems out there now for when your EWP takes a dump. IMHO that pretty much makes these things manditory on a build up.

I know I don't build a LT1 without one.

EWP is good to get all the horsepower out of an engine, less drag. Now if you are a drag racer i wiould agree its a good mod. But like Ion said daily driver your taking a chance. They usually have 2000 hours on them Im guessing.

Re: LT1 EWP dyno results...

2000 Hours is alot of driving though if its not your every day car. I wouldnt do it on a daily driver, but a weekend/fun car, which most peoples f-bodies are, I definatly would. I will be ordering mine some time shortly

Re: LT1 EWP dyno results...

yea but I would not do it unless im anxious on horsepower, the reason im backing this up is I have had the t/a for 6 years now still original water pump I bought in 2000 thats why im kind of hesitant on the EWP. Again im not bashing on it I just would not buy it I would be self conscious of it going out..I hope you understand my catch.
