LT1 EWP dyno results...

Before and after testing on a new Mustang dyno revealed a 9-10 rwhp increase across the board when going from a stock wp to a Meziere electric on my set up...I had heard 5-10 rwhp before and now I know for sure...Just passing this along to anyone contemplating the EWP mod...should be good for a tenth at the track and the ability to keep the WP running in the staging lanes to help cool the car down a little faster..

Next week will be the shorties to Kooks 1 3/4-1 7/8 headers comparison..

Great Alan! Thanks! That is what I like to see, real hard evidence that things work or don't work... That is why I will be getting that Spohn rear sway bar you recomended to me!
Thanks for all the info before too!

Cool! Now when I get paranoid that my electric pump is about to s*** the bed again, I can just keep repeating "10 rwhp, 10 rwhp, 10 rwhp" in my head

Re: LT1 EWP dyno results...

No problem Cody, glad to help...I had heard this mod was good, but now that I've seen the numbers I'm happy I did it...We also ran a 1/4 mile pass on the dyno and it went 11.23 at 117 with a 1.37 60'!! Gotta love being strapped to a dyno and having zero wheel spin...That was one of the coolest things I've done...

The shop I use, F-Body Central, in Baltimore, MD just put in a Mustang Dyno with the ability to do 1/4 mile pulls...Its ridiculous!!! You sit in the car strapped to the dyno and when the Christmas tree falls, you hit it like you're at the track...wayyyy tooo much fun...

holly cow. I wish I lived closer. That would be rediculously fun to try! How much did it set you back, price wise??

Re: LT1 EWP dyno results...

I got 9-10 rwhp and 7-8 rwtq...The increases were all across the entire rpm band. This was my first time on a Mustang dyno and first time with the 12 bolt. 375rwhp and 355 rwtq. It all seems low, but I trap at 118 mph so I really don't care what the total numbers were. I have been to 2 different DynoJets where it pulled 400 rwhp, 362, and 385...

We should see an increase next week with the stepped Kooks in place of the 1 5/8" shorties...If we can get 15 rwhp on the Mustang dyno that'll put me at around 390rwhp and thats good for me. I don't hold alot of faith in dynos anymore as I've trapped faster than cars making 420rwhp...I use the dyno for comparisons and for tuning...

If I get into the 11.20s at 120 N/A I don't care if it pulls 250 rwhp...

Re: LT1 EWP dyno results...

Your HP is low because of your tiny cam. But your 1/4 time is very impressive!!

Re: LT1 EWP dyno results...

Hey, thanks....I'm really trying to run a 10.99 looking stock with the stock wheels, etc...The EWP may have given me a tenth and I'm hoping for a couple with the Kooks stepped LTs, but I may have to go bigger on the cam to something in the 230/240 range...we'll see.....Or I could go with Bogarts/slicks/ET Streets, 3.90 gears... and lighten everything up a little...It was interesting today I ran an 11.23 at 117 on the dyno with a 1.37 60' I bet I'll run a "dyno" 10 second pass with the headers...Dyno racing....who knew?...

Ain't that the truth. People talk up thier dyno numbers like they are thier kids, but then they run like ***.

I might have to pick up an EWP if they are worth 10rwhp. Cost to RWHP on that is pretty good.
