LT1 Edit worth it?

I am ready to install my 4.10 gears and need to know what would be the best way to get the speedometer corrected. I don't really want to buy a Hypertech because I don't think it's worth the money. There is a local shop that specializes in late model Camaros and Corvettes that will change the speedometer and also do the LT1 edit for me, but they said it will cost $200. Is it worth it for me. My mods are in my sig. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks

I offer a "saver" package that will do that and a few other things for only $45.
Another alternative is to buy a used Hypertech for $100-$150. OR, you can buy a cable for $65 and tunercat for ~$90 and do it that way.

the guys at carputing who are responsible for LT1 Edit are a bunch of crooks. You spend $200 for a program that only works for your PCM since its VIN locked and you must pay for updates. The guys over at Tunercat offer you basically the same package for 1/2 the price and its not VIN locked so you can use it on ANY 94-95 LT1 and you dont have to pay for updates. tunercat is tunercar and LT1 edit is LT1 edit.. the 2 are not the same but they are both programs that will allow you the ability to adjust engine parameters for your needs.

you could also just go thru madwolf and save yourself a lot of trouble... if you have any.

I had the same problem so i just bought a used hypetech for $100 to reset my speedo, it was the cheapest way i found other than taking your pcm out and shipping it off to someone like madwolf who i here does really good work but anyways if you just looking for a speedo reset trying looking for a used hypertech or i think some places like jeggs of summit may offer a type of switch you can plug in but im not sure you might want to check that out......good luck im gettin my 410s put in thursday!!!!

Madwolf, what does desensitizing the knock sensor do. Is it worth it for me? Also, how long would it take for you to do it and ship it back to me? Thanks

I ship PCMs back the next day after I receive them.
As for what the knock retard desensitizing does, it reduces the amount of timing the car can pull through knock retard. Like an LT4 knock module in a way.
If you think your car is seeing false knock for a reason or another (whether it's an exhaust leak or some rattle), this would help things some.
