LT1-edit

I know this program will allow you to tune your PCM but can you also tune your ECU like the hypertech powerprogrammer will do.(air/fuel ratio, shift points, rev limiter, top speed limiter, etc.) I'm a little confused about this.

Re: LT1-edit

LT1 edit will enable you to do most of the stuff the mail order tuners can do. The main difference is the fact that those guys have alot of experience in setting up programs for different combo's and they can get fairly close without seeing the car.

Look on the website posted above, they can explain it far better than I can.

Re: LT1-edit

Yes, but keep in mind, you don't know what the Hypertech guys know. You wouldn't know what to change (and wouldn't want to use their program anyway based on what I've read). You can really screw stuff up if you don't know what you're doing.

But to answer your question - yes.

Re: LT1-edit

ECU = engine control uint = PCM = powertrain control module

They are two terms for the same thing.

Re: LT1-edit

with the proper knowledge, you control just about everything the pcm does on that car. Personally, I use Tunercat. It's a personal preference, and cheaper than LT1 edit. What I did, was get a mail order tune from MadZ28.com, then tweak his tune on the dyno. It all comes down to doing what you're comfortable with.

Re: LT1-edit

It does much much more than that PP POS does.. it just takes more knowledge on how to do it. It's not just as simple as picking which options you want "improved".. it's more detailed in the programming of the computer.
