reading the instructions that come with the heads....they are rated to handle up around .600 lift the way they sit. where does it say they cant handle the cc306? I do agree that full potential will be achieved with them ported a little bit. So far the car feels incredible(even over my 100 TNT wet shot I had on the car previous to heads/cam). The mail away tune did a good job of getting me somewhat close, but ive got a few little issues to deal with as of yet. will post results after wednesday.

I guess so. When they were first intro'd they only accepted .550. Guess they figured out that wasn't enough

well .. i have checked with the machine shop and they are doing a great job!

i went inside the shop and checked out the progress on matching and porting the heads to match the LT4 intake and so far i loved what i saw... each runner have been opened wide and made much more bigger with smooth edges and smooth cuts.. same thing on the intake runners. they also did my N2O plate to be 58mm, and did the LT4 intake ports to be 58mm to match the throttle body.

if they finish them tomorrow i will probably be finished installing by wednesday/thursday ... i will let you guys know about the outcome of all this.

and grygst76 you scared me very much about that cam .. but it seems that the SummitRacing guy that helped me wasnt wrong about it and you were .. anyways thanks for the input.

you must have more money than you know what to do with. Either that or you arent doing everything right and getting better lifters, springs, pushrods, rocker studs.........

yea i wouldnt go so far as to trust a salerep from summit for stuff i can easily research on my own. All my parts except for the mail away tune were bought from a speed shop. My father used to go to this guy years ago and we looked him up. To our surprise it was still there and retains the same owner. I just like the feeling of being able to go to someone in person rather than dealing all online/phone. Dont get me wrong, plenty of people shop online with success but for major parts, im just more comfortable dealing face to face.

Seems like noone has any real experience, flow, or dyno numbers with this head. I would like to see some facts. Everyone here says just send your heads out to get ported. Usually this is a pain shipping your heads, and waiting forever for them to get done.

I agree these heads may not be that great, but I have no idea.

Let's see some #'s

two things you guys need to put in mind and i know most of you know this but ...

TrickFlow LT1 heads are best for blower application

Edelbrock LT1 heads are NOT good for blower, they would still take a 150 N2O shot pretty easily.

this is one of the reasons i went with Edelbrock since i am not willing on doing a blower on this particular engine just the 150 and maybe 200(very risky OR maybe not ?) shot.

TrickFlow 64cc champers
Edelbrock 54cc champers (i might be slightly off too lazy too look them up)

anyone agree with this ?

Seems like so many times before I trusted the "experts" at Summit and ended up screwing things up. Not too many people have bought edelbrock lt1 heads and that's why there is no real world testing and data on them. you figure they cost about 1160.00. Then to get better potential you need to spend additional money on cleanup and a little more porting which could take you 200.00 more, total now is 1360.00. Replace the springs for a better cam and you went 150.00 more, total now is 1520.00.
Put bigger valves in instead of 1.94 1.55 and that cost you 200.00 plus!
A set of stock ported polished heads with better springs and bigger valves will run you 100 to even 300.00 less or even less if you catch a deal. IMO I would rather get the whole package on the first shot then have to scurry for parts and have my car down longer, plus I would have piece of mind knowing that my combo will all work together
