Question LT1 Corvette engine differences

Well i know that the F-body LS1 and the Corvette LS1 are basically the same engine with the exception of the air intake and exhaust ect. But what about the LT1? Ive tried searching for this but couldnt find anything. Like the LS1's, are the f-body LT1's underrated too? What gives the vettes 25 more HP, would a different intake and exhaust give the Corvettes that much more HP? I was just wondering this b/c i was thinking about dropping an LT1 in my car and ive found Corvette LT1's and F-body LT1's for sale and was just wondering what the difference was. Thanks.

As far as I know, the only difference besides the induction/exhaust is that the 'Vette block comes with 4 bolt mains.

Yup.. Vette has four bolt mains...

I still don't know why though can anyone explain why the Vette got a 4 bolt main and we didn't?

I could be wrong here but I believe vettes also got roller rockers.. now 1.6 or 1.5 I cant say but I can tell you they all have composite valve covers just like the LT4s specifically to cut down on valvetrain noise.

CUZ TEH VETTE IS A POWERFULER MOTORRRR!!!

Actually some f-bods did get 4 bolts. If they had their engine replaced under warranty, it was replaced with a 4 bolt main block. That's what I've read on here anyway.

Instead of why did the Vette get 4 bolt and we didn't, how about why bother putting 4 bolts in the Vette, seems to me the 2 bolt blocks and even whole stock bottom ends can take one heck of a lot of power and rpms.

I believe that there were some very minor cam differences in a few of the years.

Vette also got different accessory brackets than the Fbod, and different fuel rails. Also, they got those cool fuel rail covers.

Rockers are the same as F-body

Composite valve covers started in '93. The '92 LT1 had magnesium covers.

You know, in the 12 years or so that the LT1 has been around, you'd think we'd have answers to questions like this down to a tee.

Some of the first f-bodies got 4 bolt mains. I have 4 bolt main, the oil cooler line is usually a sign that you have 4-bolt main.

I know im asking a dumb question but whats a 4 bolt main
4 bolt main means the main caps have 4 bolts instead of two, gives the block more strength.

Vette got 4 bolt mains
Vette has slightly different cam profiles than F-bodies
exhaust to fit Y chassis
fuel rails
fuel rail covers
valve covers
oil pans (longer sump on 'Vettes)
accessories and accessory location
PCM's , harnesses and programming

1.6 roller rockers (LT4 only)
valve springs (LT4 only)
pistons (LT4 only)
heads, intake, cam chain, clutches (LT4 only)
I think LT4's had slightly larger injectors too. That's all I can think of.

The Corvette LT1's also have an oil temperature sensor, and dual knock sensors.
