Re: Lt1 coil

My Accel 300+ on my 93 is the same way. Both of the factory plugs go into the Accel box and then the one plug from the Accel harness goes into the coil.

I believe it's like that with almost all aftermarket ignition boxes out there.

Re: Lt1 coil

You do have a '2nd plug'..
It is now plugged into the MSD harness[the grey plug in the pic is the 2nd plug]

Re: Lt1 coil

Right the 2nd plug is like plugged off or something, ive only been running one into the coil. Even after just looking at it i disconnected my ignition msd box and there is only one plug that goes into the coil, its the white one. The other one im not sure, there is a 3 wire thing that is in a molded squre. Not sure but my car worked fine for over a year with one plug in the coil. Is this normal on 93s?

Re: Lt1 coil

I looked at that once and determined that the dual connectors are redundant. Not sure why the factory had it that way other than convenience of hooking up the wires.

Re: Lt1 coil

If you are using an MSD harness, only one connector goes on the coil, just like the pic I posted.

It plugs into the MSD harness that you only would have with an MSD ignition box. As stock, the grey and black connectors plug into the coil instead.

Re: Lt1 coil

Im not sure how but my car has been working forever on just the grey one going into the coil man. I have an MSD box but ive only had one plug into the coil the entire time. I bought the MSD box, hooked it up with the qwik connect harness, but i never had 2 connectors im missing the black one completly. I have one into the qwik connect harness (the grey one) and one from the harness into my coil. Is this a problem that i am totally missing the stock black one from the harness?

Re: Lt1 coil

Don't know what to tell you. A stock harness should have two plugs. If it has worked that way "forever", I doubt it is the source of a new problem.

Re: Lt1 coil

Previous to '96, they should have had two siamesed plugs (one black and one gray, I think).
In '96, the system went to one plug on the coil.
Did someone change your system to a '96 coil?
