I did this on my 94 z. I took the end of the cat that mates to the catback and cut it off. Than i welded it to a piece of 3 inch tubing, expanded the other end at an exhaust shop slipped it over my y pipe, bolted it up to my cat back, and viola........a test pipe. Hope this helps, Prorac1

off road pipe...i guess.....more or less just something to go from end of y-pipe, which is very short, ends where cat would have started.......and run all the way back to catback...

thanks Prorac1

You can buy one from mac and a couple of other manufacturers, Or you can make one. Here's a pic of one I made out of a bullet muffler. Sounds better than a straight pipe imo.

I don't know what kinda exhaust you're running, but you might as well just throw a cutout in there, it's not that much more expensive.

You could buy a section of exhaust tubing at AutoZone or anything like that or even a muffler shop. Then flange both ends of that and flange the other end of the cat. Then you can quickly switch between hollow pipe and a cat.
