Re: LT1 carburated

some one probobly put a 262 baby lt1 in your car before you bought it like the 1 i bought .I bought a 95 Z28 and the guy i bought it from put a 262 baby lt1 in it thinking it was a 350 lt1 and with 2.73 rear end it would not turn the tires neather. So i bought a 96 lt1 out of a recked ss and put bbk headers and a 2100 stall also on it tbbypass and with 2.73 rear have ran a best 13:97 at 100.4 miles an hour.thats kicken with 2.73 rear. and it will burn through 1st and 150 feet in second.very impresive.next is 3.73 gears .So i would check to make sure its a lt1 350 they look just alike .Z28 lt1s come with aluminum heads 262 motors comes with iron heads.

You should be able to run a standard distributor on it...as the LT1 cams still have the rear distributor drive gear on them.

Re: LT1 carburated

i hope you check to see if you really have a 5.7,like mentioned before it could be that 4.3 caprice motor, the heads do interchange so dont go by that method check on the drivers side of the motor in the rear just below the head and it should be stamped 5.7L.....it would really suck to buy the carb, manifold, dist.,do all that conversion work to find out its a worse turd than you started with!

Re: LT1 carburated

Is this a common swap to change out the 350? Its makin me paranoid now even though i have no reason to suspect mine was swapped.

Re: LT1 carburated

What all will have to be done and whats the total cost.
My stock injectors couldn't complete with a Holly 750DP. Also, you can put nitrous on the engine for much cheaper and more powerful shots if you use a carb.
