lt1 cams

New to the whole cam thing so I need some advice. Everything I could learn I pretty much want to know.

Is there a cam that would work best with a stock engine? Just built a stock lt1 .030 over, new crank and pistons. Before its all back together I was considering a cam. Would it be worth throwing one in with nothing else done like head work? Always hear about the lt4 hot cam but that whole kit is $600 or so.

Re: lt1 cams

The hot cam kit is a good kit since it's all designed to work together HOWEVER you mention the price as in it being expensive. Keep in mind that's just for the hard parts. You're also going to add on about $400 or so for tuning and incidentals. Typically a cam swap runs about $1000.
