LT1 Cam info??

I am thinking about putting in an LT4 hot cam in my 95 T/A. My current set up is pretty stock, LPE CAI, SLP shorty headers, gutted cat, 3" flowmasters out the end.

My dielma is this, if I go with the cam I would also like to change the RR and would have to change the springs. I have stock heads, so if I bought 1.6 RR and springs that could handle the .525 lift, which are not hard to find, would I be running in to problems with that lift and the heads or anything else?
Thanks,
Chris

Not too sure what you're asking, but a hotcam on stock heads with 1.6 RRs is a very common setup. You'd be fine.

if you going the hotcam route, I would just buy the kit that comes with the cam, springs and rockers.

Re: LT1 Cam info??

As was said, you should just buy the kit from Summit. It's actually a GM kit that you can get from the stealership as well. It comes with the LT4 HOTcam, 1.6 self aligning roller rockers, shims/retainers/locks, and springs. I have heard the springs are marginal for the lift on the HOTcam, so you'd probably want to upgrade just to be safe (especially if you're planning to rev over 6000), and use the rest of the kit. Might want to put a new timing set or at least chain on it while you have it apart.

Re: LT1 Cam info??

Ok, I think I have decided on going with the LT4 kit, I can get for 470 from dealership shipped, so this seems like a pretty good deal for what I want.

I was looking into tuning, and pcmforless is 175+shipping and madz28 is 80, is there a big difference between the 2 of these?, is it really worth another 100 bucks? keep in mind I am on a tight college budget =)
