Is this an LT1 Cam?
Is this an LT1 Cam?
Hey fellaz. I just bought a used cam from ebay. The seller states that it is a LT1 cam. The numbers on the end of the cam are 155 FM65 206 99L.
So is it a LT1? To see the cam checkout my profile. Thanks guyz.

What. wrong cam. the one I bought off of ebay is the RamJet Gm 14097395. Sorry. The LT1 cam that I bought was from a gentleman from the Thirdgen.org website. He claims that it cam out of a Camaro (4th gen). When I do a google check on these casting numbers, there is nothing. So thats why Im here in the LT1 board to see if anyone recognises this cam. Any help would be great.
Did you check the pics in my profile?

No he didnt but I already sent him an email so that I can get verifcation. Ive got to take my kids out to eat right now so Ill get back to you later on. Ohh he did mention that he had the cam was in his LO3 engine (Third Gen Camaro) which is TBI. I just want to make sure that my computer will work with this cam because Im going to stab it in my 87 IROC-Z TPI sytem. Ill talk to you later. Thanks for helping me dig out the type of cam Im getting. Peace.
reamo04, this is the reply he sent me "should be a 94 camaro LT1 due to the short dowl pin". So the cam is from a 94 Z28 V8 350 Camaro. SO is it a possible LT1 cam? So no he is not even sure where the cam came from? He claims that it was in his LO3 engine when he bought his Camaro. I guess the seller didnt tell him where the cam came from. The seller did tell me that the cam only has about 5,000 miles on it.

sounds like it is a stock lt1 cam. different years had either the short or long dowel pin but i cant remember which. since he said it came from a 94 camaro it would have to be an lt1 cam. lt1 cams are also popular mods with the TBI crowd, so it would make sense that it was in an lo3 engine.
See, I had a RamJet 383 cam that didnt work in the IROC Z. Summit told me that it would work even though the specs state Non-Computer controlled. So Im going to send it back. So with this suppose LT1 cam that im getting, Im really hoping that it is a real LT1 cam. The best way to verify this is by running the casting number right? Unfortunately the casting #'s are not in GM's catalog. So Im hoping that it is a aftermarket LT1 cam. Bersaglieri, How much for the cam if you decide to sell it, if I decide to get it of course.
You see, my big issue is if this cam that Im getting is a real LT1, then cool. But if it aint, Im worried that my 86 Camaro's ECM wont be able to "read it" right, thus giving me idle and power issues as did the non computer cam (RamJet).
RamAir95TA, I am going to do the measurements but my issue is that whether or not the lobe seperation is going to affect the ECM because that was the big problem with the GM Performance cam. The GM cam was a non computer cam. I understand that the LT1 cams are computer controlled for the early 90's Camaro's, but are they computer friendly for the 87 IROC-Z? Can anybody help me out here?
