lt1 build help

hey guys i just have a few questions on my lt1 build

i got a comp cam xfi 280 230 int 236 exh with a 113lsa

just wondering what would be the best roller rockers for this style cam
also any idea on what pushrod length i would need im going to be getting le2 heads with the beehive springs and plan on sticking with the stock valve covers for now

also just ordered some pacesetter long tubes and was wondering what all i would need with that o2 extensions do i need the over the valve cover spark plug wires or not

just some input has im trying to get all this ordered so i can get the car back together as soon as possible so excited to get this done

Re: lt1 build help

Comp cam said to use 1.6 for all thier cams,I have heard that if you want a higher ratio rocekr ex. 1.6 instead of 1.5 which is stock ratio you need taller valve covers so if your gonna stick with the stock valve covers keep your stock rockers. And when you buy the new rockers ask summit or who ever you buy them from what pushrods they recomend.
And for the Long tubes I actually saw a lt1 yesturday with LT with the stock wire route(under the Valve covers but the over VC looks super nice.
BTW where did u buy the 02 extentions i will be needed that soon

Re: lt1 build help

I would get a pushrod length checker rather than trust someone else's guesstimate. Just piece of mind that only costs you the small investment of the tool.

Long Tubes don't require OTVC wires, everyone just does it to help keep the wires off the headers. I bought mine recently and really wish I had just run them under and done a better job of tying them off this time. To me it looks cluttered, but maybe I just have to get used to them. I will say 100% to stay away from Taylors. I've never used a crappier wire. MSD are twice the cost, but in all my other vehicles I have never had any issues. Taylor's in my TA..... 2 sets and nothing but issues with them.

As for O2 extensions, depends on the headers. Pacesetters, some people say you only need a 12" extension for the passenger side. My LPP (no longer made) I needed 2. I run O2 sims for the downstream.

Re: lt1 build help

Many 1.6's fit under the stock valve covers, with minor pinching or trimming of the internal braces. I know my 1.6 Comp Pro-Magnums fit.

Do not rely on anyone to tell you over the phone what length pushrods to get. Measure your setup, then order the correct length.

Re: lt1 build help

alright thanks injuneer, i'll probably just order the comps anyways thats what i was planning and as far as pushrods go i'll just order the tool and wait i guess for the heads to come back and for me to start re installing everything and check what size i need, anyone know where to get o2 extensions from for a decent price?
