Cool LT1 and A4

what is the "best and sure way" to get 12's from a LT1 w/ A4? without using the "bottle".

rear end change?
stall change?
what weight can be taken off without affecting handling performance?

what "bolt-ons" would be needed?

Just trying to get it to run say 12.8 in the 1/4mi.
is there a hp/tq number needed to achieve this goal?

i know this has been brought up before and i have used the search feature several times but it gives all kind of threads with none of the info im looking for.

Thanks all for your inputs

I can't give you exact estimates, however, A 3k stall converter, the rear will hold for a while (its hit or miss) some slicks, You can basicly gut the entire interior, however I myself would not do that, but thats just my opinion. Do the basic bolt on's, cai, exhaust, headers, lower control arms, maybe some 3.73's. Im sure someone of better knowledge can fill you in more.

full exhaust, a 3,000 stall, possibly gears(depends on what you have in there now) automatics love 3.73's. also where you live(altitude) plays a big part in what you will run

Bolt-ons such as CAI,full exhaust, tune, ect., higher stall converter, and sticky tires is usually good for 12s for most. Add the "bottle" and you can be in the 11s.

Build your suspension first. If you can't put power to the ground it's useless. I would recomend lca's, adjustable tq arm, panhard, shocks/struts, springs, and drag radials. As far as performance mods I made it into the 12's with a cai, lt's, ory, catback, and tune (pcm for less). A little more that can be done if that doesn't get you there are 3.73's, 3000 or 3500 stall, and 1.6 roller rockers. I hope this helps.
