LT1 and a 5grand budget

Hey everybody , i posted in the L98/3rd gen tech forum , about what could be done with a 5grand budget , i'am just trying to see what can be done with this kind of budget window. (my previous post http://web.camaross.com/forums/showthread.php?t=397467)

I'd personally just find you a cheap LT1 car with a blown motor or something for 1500-2000. Then get you a rebuilt short block and add a cam and headers for now. That'll get you real close to 5k. That would give you the potential to hit 12's. Then later on you can add some heads and really put down the power.
