LT1/4 Starter Differances?
Are there any? I heard the LT4 starter is slightly longer and makes for more of a pain with LTs. I do know that the LT4 starter doesn't have a core charge though. Thoughts?

How does one convert the 3 post LT1 to the 2 post LT4? Seems the small wire is missing a place to go on the LT4 starter.

There are only two wires that go on the starter-the battery cable and the purple wire from the switch. No real conversion needed.

I've got a small gauge wire that runs to the small third post. It uses a 5/16 nut. On the link provided above you can see it best in the top middle or right hand shot.

stop worrying about it. you only have 2 wires coming from the wiring harness to the starter. that little wire is self contained on the lt1 starter.

It's not an LT4 specific starter. It's more likely a year change. My '96 LT1 (in a Vette) has the same starter as an LT4.

Where does this wire come from and what color is it? What year is your car?

I see that the starter costs $144, can be found cheaper, or has anyone gotten it from Jason or Dal cheaper?
