500flywheel or rear wheel?

How modded is the car already? Car needs a LOT of work first.

Also you should understand that heads and cam can get you 500fwhp on a good condition stock shortblock and that displacement helps a LOT less than most assume it does.

There is cheap, reliable and inexpensive. Which do you want and what is your budget? Check out others signature to see there combos.

Re: lt1 383 stroker help

Checking out signatures to see combos can be useful if there are RESULTS listed and you can consider "result for effort".

If you compare two cars and one is .2 faster but has an extra $2K in aftermarket heads, more displacement and a trailer queen would you rather listen to the guy who is technically faster or the guy who got damned near the same result in a driver that cost a lot less to build?

You really need to put in a lot of time to figure out who to trust before you go spending money based on advise from a forum.

What are you looking to do with the 500+ HP? Numbers don't mean jack if it can't get down the track.

Re: lt1 383 stroker help

You could just buy my entire car for what a GOOD 383 engine alone would cost.

Re: lt1 383 stroker help

Many have there 1/4 miles times listed and might be willing to assist if you need more info than the "sig" lists.

Just FWIW, a 500hp LT1 engine will grenade a stock tranny, driveshaft, and rearend.

A stock LT1 can as well, it just takes a little longer.

I disagree, i have a stock driveshaft(from an ls1) and the stock rear that came with my car, no work ever done to the rear and its still going!
As far as the tranny goes, my stock one was slipping at high rpm/boost, but definitely did not grenade it.

Regardless it is foolish to assume a stock drivetrain can handle a 500HP engine.

Put a set of slicks on it and make a track pass and let me know what happens. Hope you have AAA.
