As much as I would like to put in an LS1 into my '71 it takes a whole lot more money and work, money is really the only thing that is a problem. The LT1 offers the engine I am familiar with and no crossmember modifications. The LS1 is a whole different and more expensive engine swap to me.

Not if the LS1 were carburated. We are doing one similar to that now for a 70 Camaro.

There are many companies making front suspension and motor mounts for swaps into all years of classic camaros and chevelles.
