LT install help, ASAP
LT install help, ASAP
I am in the process of removing my stock manifolds, and the steering linkage is in the way. I know how to remove it, but it won't budge. I have removed the top and bottom bolt. Any advice
You shouldn't have to remove the steering linkage to get the stock manifold out. Just disconnect your y-pipe from the intermediate pipe and then disconnect the y-pipe from the manifold. Unbolt the manifold, take out your plugs and it should drop right down to the ground.
If you have the steering knuckle loose you can just wiggle the two pieces apart.

it'll slide
slide it up torwards the firewall... don't use a hammer or any other blunt object, just your brute force.
once you get one side off, just slide it back down torwards the front of the car. its not easy, but its possible. you might as well take it off anyways since its easier to remove it to get the longtubes in.

I just unbolted the top part and slid it off (harder than it sounds) and put my Header in and then pryed it back on (much harder than it sounds) this steering linkage problem was the worst part of my header install if you can believe that.
