LT install......do i remove the alternator bracket?

ive removed everything so far (egr, air, stock ypipe, alternator, etc etc) except the two stock manifolds..............how the hell do i get a wrench/socket to these damn bolts?!!?!?!? i wanted to soak them overnight with PB Blaster, but i cant even see most of the damn bolts to shoot them with blaster.

for the passenger side, do i have to remove the alternator bracket?

the alternator is gone, but there is a small alternator mount that attached to the 1st header bolt.........it doesnt look like i can get to that bolt

how much of a PITA is removing the alternator bracket?

A fairly small ratchet with a u-joint attachment comes in real handy.

As for the alternator bracket, I removed it, I don't remember if I had to or not though. One thing, remember how it goes though. I couldn't figure out how the hell to put it back on so I just said screw it and left it off, alternetor is held in place good enough without it anyways.

Just keep at it man, took me two days to get my LT's installed. You're also gonna hafta remove the steering linkage and the starter as well, and you'll need to jack the car fairly high up in the air to slide the passenger side LT in through the bottom.

You do have the car on jackstands right?
Just wondering cause you get to most of them from the bottom.
I sprayed mine down with PB blaster and they soaked overnite.
As my high school Auto Tech teacher said "Any bolt can be reached with the proper combination of extensions and universal joints"
YEAH RIGHT!
Alternator bracket can come off and you can throw it as far from you as possible, it don,t need to go back on.
If you have a "Killer set of tools" you should be able to get to all the manifold bolts, just remember to take your time and make sure you are straight on the bolts when you loosen em, the last thing you want to do is break a bolt off in the head.

All i have is a craftsman tool set and i got them all. Just make sure you have a breaker bar handy b/c some are really hard to loosen and i spayed mine down for a week straight.

dude- you have to remove everything as a good rule of thumb. I wouldn't be suprised if someone needed to take the spare tire out...
