lt headers touching fuel lines?
Re: lt headers touching fuel lines?
try and bend anything a little without hurting anything. also, heat wrap the fuel lines with some of that silver stuff, then get a piece of plug wire wrap (the thick cloth kind) like you can get at advance auto parts or autzone and slice it open right down the side. this will alow you to slip it over the fuel lines and then wire tie it or something to hold it in place. you should be more than fine with that. headers do not put out enough heat at the collector to eat through either one of those heat wraps, especially if you have ceramin coated headers
Re: lt headers touching fuel lines?
Had this problem with a friend's car. We unscrewed the bracket holding the fuel lines in place on the driver's side under the car and bent the fuel lines away, insulated them, and wrapped them in heat-reflective muffler tape.
Re: lt headers touching fuel lines?
i just took the brakets off, bent the fuel lines up and had a muffler shop spot weld a hanger to hold the lines up off the collector. there is no real need to insulate them.jmo
Re: lt headers touching fuel lines?
I had a brake line that touched. I unbolted it from the bracket, bent it a little. Then just put it back on the bracket.
My only concern in that area is the fuel vent line that has the rubber part connecting the metal line to the plastic line. Seems radiant heat from the header has softened the rubber joining the two.
