What kind of long tubes are you running? I didn't have any issues with my Pacesetters getting close to the fuel lines. Then again, it is a slip-fit style header and doesn't have bulky flanges.

2nd that on the pacesetters. I mean, its close, but not that close.

FWIW, If its any name-brand header, you dont need to worry about it.

Re: LT and fuel lines

Its not the headers that come close, but what the Y-pipe or the drivers side pipe does after the header that could bring it close to the fuel line where they cut across from the tunnel area over to the outside of the body.
Its only where the fuel lines go from metal to plastic, just don't want the plastic to be that close to a hot pipe.

I just got a piece of sheet metal and fabricated a heat shield for mine, was real easy and just used 4 self tapping screws to attach it.
You can see it in these pics right under the driver side door.

Re: LT and fuel lines

There should be no contact, not even close with those headers and it will not make any difference. If you are running lets say, an x-pipe yes it will be close to the fuel lines but you will have no problems, the x-pipe wont even bother the fuel lines. I have the Pacesetter LT's

Re: LT and fuel lines

Why dont you dump it? That exhaust is kinda gay over the axle. Just my opinion, maybe there's a reason.

Re: LT and fuel lines

I used a 2000* heat reflective tape. The lines had a couple of inches, but some extra protection never hurts. If you do put the tape on, I recommend that you use some tie wraps aroung the tape to help hold it on because sometimes the tape will tend to peel off.

Re: LT and fuel lines

When i was running pacesetters, they werent long enough to get into the fuel lines, but my tube mufflers that were bolted to my headers were actually touching the lines before i persuaded them to move a little. I made a little heat shield type thing and bolted it around them. worked for me?
