LT brand

Anyone ever heard of or use the Dynatech LT's they have in Jegs for the LT1 cars? They are 1 3/4 and are ceramic coated inside and out for $429.99. Seems like a good deal. Are they any good?

The're the same as FLP's but just headers, no y-pipe or cats, etc. You need to buy the collectors seperate, which slip on. This is the only thing I don't like is that them, I would have welded the collectors if I could do it again. Mine leaked slightly, but I seem to have fixed with high temp. silcone sealant. They fit great after you remove/relocate your oil cooler and sound great.

FLPs are Dynatechs like Jet-Hots are Hookers. Yeah, they are good but you have to be careful what it comes with for $430. Does it includes the collectors, flanges, emissions hook-ups, etc. Not that you might care about those.

I am in the market for LT's but my friend and LT1 genious told me that he installed a pair of FLP's and they were a PITA. Do you know if yours were hard to install?

FLP install wasn't that bad. Taking off the stock parts, especially the passenger side stuff, is the hardest part. See my install guide.

He told me that they got the headers on and got 7 of the plugs back in. He had to drop one of the headers back down to get the last plug in. Is there any performance difference with the FLP's over the Hooker LT's? Which one is more practical? Thanks for your replies.

I had the same problem with getting my bolts on. I had to loosen everthing up to get one bolt on each side in. You just need to put them all in before you tighten any. There's one bolt on each side that sits right next to the primary where it bends and makes it hard to get the bolt in there. But I had no other problems and I didn't know what to expect going into it.

Why did you guys choose the FLP's or Dynatech's over the Jet-Hots or the Hookers?

I chose FLPs for a few reasons.

1. Ceramic coated everything.
2. It comes with 2 cats, 2 off road pipes, y-pipe, clamps, header bolts and gaskets.
3. Mine's even came with 2 O2 sims and a 12" O2 wire extention.
4. Provision for AIR and EGR (even though not emssion legal).
5. No headaches as it comes complete (i.e. finding parts).
6. Prolly less than 1 out of 10 people has FLPs.

My only complaint was the cheap header gaskets and header bolts it came with. I'm sure most headers come with cheap gaskets and bolts. So I bought Fel-Pro header gaskets and ARP header bolts.

I never heard too much about Jet Hot's at the time. FLP had more than I needed. And Hookers hang slightly lower, FLP and Dynatechs fit a little tighter (this is from responses I had gotten, some from people who had both Hookers and Dynatech headers)

But, again, I don't like the slip oin collectors Dynatech has. Everything else is great. Good coating too.
