It is a Lotus motor. If I remember correctly, Lotus built it for GM. Not really saying anything for GM's engineering. Never the less, it is a cool motor.

ACTUALLY mercury marine built them if money wanst an issue this is basically still the most badass engine gm ever put into a car they mass produced, you know the stock bottom end in those engines can hold up to 1000hp. Read about how they used one with shorter rods with 1000hp+ somewhere on zr1.net. They were also designed with the intent of lasting over 300k miles.
