i'd almost guarantee nobody will. there have been several discussions of the lunicy of installing a $25,000 motor into a camaro, when for half that you could easily have well over the lt5's 405hp...

that and the fact that it is dimensionally much larger due to the ohv heads, so much that it is doubtful it would fit inbetween the shock towers of a 4th gen

none that i know of. it would cost alot more money than its worth. it has been dicussed but, it has been ruled a waste of money. becuase thamoney just for the engine is 18000 (the cheapest ive seen.) and all the chopping it would take to get it in the engine bay.

stick with the lt1 spend 5 grand on it and you would be faster than if you put in a lt5.

spend 18000 grand on a lt1 and run 9s.

I've got a Camaro book at home that has a picture of an LT-5 in a third gen. Looked pretty sweet and they said the installation was very straight forward, can't think it would be to much more difficult in a 4th gen (I'm assuming that the engine bays are dimentionally close). But I agree with the others saying that the cost would be too much for such little return.

I have read about one being put in a thirdgen, and I believe that they had to cut and modify the frame for it to fit. Also, I have a 85 t/A and we just pulled a LT1 out of a wrecked 93 that my cousin bought and I do believe that there is more room width wise in my 85. I can actually fit my hand down from the top on my 85 to change spark plugs where I couldnt really on the 93.

Its been in 3rd gen....a crazy colored one by GM.

Why on earth anyone would want to put this motor in I dont know, especially with a newer and superior motor such as the LS6 that would be much cheaper, easier, and faster!

Youll be hard pressed to find pics, Im sure one of that 3rd gen is out there somewhere.

This topic has been covered in advanced tech before I belive.

Anyone ever driven a ZR-1? The LT5 is an amazing engine...i'm not saying that its worth the money to drop into another car, just commenting that it is an amazing engine. It is incredibly docile...it has better street manners than my Trans Am did stock. You've also got to remember that the LT5 first appeared in cars in 1989 (1990 model year). At any rate, its a wild engine. I've daily driven a ZR-1 Vette everyday since last November when I broke my T/A. I want one (ZR-1). BTW, borrowed my dad's car if anyone is wondering.

I'm not saying I want to do the swap, I just want to see a pic if it exists.
