Lt 4

I have chance to buy a 97 LT4 out of a 97 vette with less then 20,000 miles on it only the motor can i use my tranes out of my 93 z to work with this motor or will i have to get a 4l60e tranes i have a 700r4 let me know thanks.

well. You could use your 93 computer and have it tuned for the LT-4
Or you could use the LT-4 computer which would probibly work alot better, but im guessing it will not work correctly with either auto because I thought All LT-4s were stick.

97 Vettes had the LS1. Maybe you mean 96 Vette since that was the year the LT4 was available from the factory.

LTx blocks are the same. Your tranny should bolt right up. The only real difference is the 4-bolt mains to the regular 2 the LT1s have.

I'm sure he meant 96 or at least I hope he did but the LT4 was available in 97 from the factory.....in the Firehawk and Camaro SS with a $40,000 price tag.

I ment 96 a older guy has it and do not know what he has i can get the motor and computer for 1000.00 that is a steal for that motor thanks guys

Might want to get the engine harness as well.

The fuel lines are routed different as well, you might wanna get an 94-97 LT1 F-body fuel rail, or use yours which should work.
