LT-1's and back pressure
LT-1's and back pressure
I currently have mac mid length headers and a mac y-pipe, but i dont have cat-back exhaust yet. My hooker quad tip exhaust is on a three week back order through LS1speed.com!!! I have to drive my car a few times coming up this week, and i was wondering if not having a cat back would screw up anything in my car. The o2's are unplugged right now, i am just running open loop. What was happening while i had the o2's hooked up without the catback, during overlap air was getting to my o2s and causing her to run really lean, so i just unplugged them for now and she runs like a champ. I know LT1's like back pressure, and i have no intention of going out and racing and asking 100% out of my car, i just need to drive it to work a few times and i want to make sure that everything will go allright.

I will be fine, you just want get the full potential of the headers without a good flowing exhaust. What do you mean your just running open loop? When the car gets to a certain temp. it automatically goes to closed loop.
my o2's are unplugged right now, they were getting all screwed up from not having a cat-back. By the way, my rear o2's were deleted in a tune from pcmforless.com, all i have now are my two front o2's. My car is annoyingly loud right now, i dont want to drive it without a cat back, but like i said it's on back order and i gots to get to work. For running in open loop, she gets up and goes like a bandit!! It makes me feel better knowing that i am not hurting my baby after putting all this time and money into her.
