LT-1 Block

I'm in the middle of putting my block back together and there is a spot right above the oil filter bracket on the block on the drivers side that is threaded, there is actually 2 of them but one has a bolt through it already, what goes in the other one that is right above that one, is a sensor or is it just another bolt. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Re: LT-1 Block

The second one (furthest from the oil filter) is not used and does not get a bolt. The first one, with the bolt, is a source for pressurized oil and is used to feed oil to superchargers.

Re: LT-1 Block

should it have a bolt or something in it, it looks like it runs into the block, that would cause it to blow oil out right?

Re: LT-1 Block

that unused thru hole is used on mechanical linkage clutch throwout pivot ball. Old school cars mainly. You will also have some extra holes near the motormount holes for old school motormounts. Makes it real easy to transplant a lt1!

The first hole is used on Corvette's for the oil temp sending switch and the other is not used.

The oil passage is used for the oil pressure sensor on early model 4th gen f-bodies.
