It means, 2*(degrees) ground in..From what I've been told, it has to do with the powerband...somehow.

Re: lsa Q. 111 + 2 ???

Yes, +2 means there are 2* of advance ground into the cam. The ICL (intake center line) on that cam is 109 (109 + 2 = 111 LSA). LT1 cams typically have 4* of advance ground into them, but seems cam designers are moving in other directions and trying different things. Having 2* of advance will shift your peak power upward in the rpm range a little, as opposed to a +4 cam.

Re: lsa Q. 111 + 2 ???

You could go with a 110 LSA and a 108 ICL...this would give you the same 2* advance. The 110 LSA will give you more overlap which will make the car 'lope' harder. The 110 LSA might give you a couple more peak HP than the 111 LSA, but your torque curve would be a little peakier than with the 111 LSA.

Re: lsa Q. 111 + 2 ???

well u want it to chop/idle as radical as possible. i had a
22x/23x cam before on 110 lsa and it was decently radical idle
my new one is 23x/24x with a lil higher lift on 111.
will it have a smoother idle?
but with the duration higher, powerband moves up right? which was deffinately takin into consideration. i talked to dave at cms and he was very helpful,

The 23x/24x on a 111 lsa will have a more radical idle than the 22x/23x on a 110 lsa due to the considerable increase in duration. Neither will idle smooth. The 23x/24x should peak higher and make more peak hp than the 22x/23x.

Re: lsa Q. 111 + 2 ???

thanks for the help, though the guy said the larger duration #'s wouldn't change the idle.

Duration absolutely affects the idle. Duration affects overlap which will change the idle characteristics. He may be saying the change in duration won't have a huge affect on how the car idles, but it will have some.
