LS7 lifters....

I broke my comp r lifters. I have since torn it all apart. Little things about it I just didn't like ...small oil leak, MR. Gasket head gaskets which when peeled from the package look the same as taking them off the block after use!
Trans will be off to CPT, Canton oil pan, new oil pump........
Here is the photo of the comp r.

Hopefully this week I will be able to take a good comp r and a LS7 lifter to work and measure the difference on the lifters ,especially in the pushrod cup area. Lets put the argument to rest.

that would be great i would love to know for sure, like i have said in the past i did not measure the difference but i can tell you they visually "look" different in the cup area, otherwise they look exactly the same. i usually just tell people to measure just to be sure although i believe the difference, if any, will not be large enough to require a change in pushrod length

how exacltly do you plan to measure them?

Calipers and then a depth gauge of some sort. I'll ask the guys in our machine shop to do it, they are normally playing video poker but maybe one of them can do this for me.

as a matter of fact I pulled some out yesterday and looked at the difference between the two and there is a bit more depth in the LS7 lifter compared to factory LT1 lifters - ever so slight though

I would use clay and then measure again after removal with a caliper. I might just have to do that tomorrow.
