ls7 lifters

Ok I have been searching and answers see vague as to whether or not LS7 lifters can be used in LT1s. I know LS1's can be used in LT1's, and LS7's can be used in LS1's. So to me that would mean that they can be used in LT1s...right?? I just figured that for about $100 it seemed like a really great thing to not pass up because I need some new lifters. I just need a definite answer that I can use them. I know about the cadillac lifters, but I would think the LS7s would suffice just fine for less than half the price.

There is the LS-7 lifter for a $100.00 dollars then the real nice units with lighter internal wieghts and better oiling, which is 220 part number 88958689.
I am hearing the LS-7 lifters (12499225) is a little different than factory LSx engines, then I see the 88958689 number lifter as a GM racing lifter and this is the hot ticket.
So, hopefully someone will chime in and tell you/us which lifter is really the hot ticket. I think the racing, 88958689, is the one as it was the Cadillac LSx racing engine lifters which allowed higher rpm stability and were lighter internally. I would thinkt he LS7 engine would have the good ones too, but for over $100.00 dollars cheaper for the LS-7 lifter I dont see the LS-7 having the "better" lifter for racing etc.
And they can be used in the LT1/4 engines.

never said the ls7 lifter was king of the hill. the caddy racing ones are the hot ticket if you have an higher reving more aggressive combo going together. they have different valving and blah blah blah they got em to go 8500rpms and stay 'stable' in the caddy racing programs. but honestly your avg builder has about as much chance repeating that feat as a cat does putting out a forrset fire.

yeah my 357 LE1 H/C isn't going to be going to 8500rpms...why I was saying the LS7 lifter might be a better option for the cost for me. Plus the cadi lifters are on a long backorder

well so far if you want to pay for some top lifters for a good price then go with the cadi lifters for what $220?
but the LS7s can be bought for $100
as long as LS7s work, thats what im going with.

ls7 lifter pricing

You guys down there are some lucky with pricing. Up here in Canada garage pricing for ls7 lifters are $257.60, Caddy lifter is $564.60 and hot cam kit is $1420.80. Big difference! That is wholesale price.

Good post, I have seen people use LS2 lifters on the boards, for the price, its a good stock replacement. Wouldnt mind seeing some people using the Caddy race lifters and giving their thoughts.

It seems the problem with the Caddy lifters is that they are on backorder everywhere.

Yeah, some times though you get engine builders and what not that get parts before every one else does. I know one of the guys at SAM, and they have gotten parts for engine builds before a lot of people do.

Is there any difference between the stock LT1 lifters and the stock LS7 lifters. For around a 100.00 cheaper than the racing ones isn't bad if they are any better than the stock LT1 lifters if they will work in the block and if they are the same length. Somone have a part number for the LS7 stockers if they are better?

I noticed post 4 just wanted to know for sure from somebody that has actually used them and not just the "I think it will work," rumor. So someone with some valued input please let me know before I spend the money.
