LS1 swap

Would I have to make any changes to make a LS1 fit into my 97Z28? Would it drop in pretty smoothly and would an aftermarket header and exhuast combo match up?

Re: LS1 swap

It should bolt right up to the motor mounts...

but i've read where you need a 98-99 LS1 because of some electrical hookups. LS1 radiator, fans, and prolly alot of other stuff that i forgot.

also, why the swap? did the LT1 crapout or did you get a good deal on an LS1 somewhere? Cause why spend 4-5k just to be as fast as every other Camaro/TA? Mod the hell out of that LT1 man.

Re: LS1 swap

LS1 Trans? The Tranny won't bolt up to it? Isn't it a T56?

Re: LS1 swap

Its a lot cheaper to mod your LT1 than it is to install an LS1 in place of it... and it will most likely be a lot faster too.
