LS1 maf on a LT1 car???

i think that my mass air flow censor might be bad. My dad has a 02' WS6 and he put an aftermarket MAF on his car and his stock one is lying around. Would it be possible to use that one on my car if it does turn out to be the problem? Thanks guys- Jason

You can use it, but I believe the connector is different as well as the Freq Vs Flow output of the meter, thus you'd need your PCM re-programmed for the new MAF.

ls1speed.com sells a 'z06 maf conversion kit', that includes an adapter, so a LS1 wouldnt be plug and play.

What year cars are the LS1 MAFs off? 98-00 you're fine.. the 01/02's I believe are the new style.. 4" inlet, 3.5" outlet.... those will NOT work without what I said before...

I put the LS1 MAF on my car today and it really didn't run that well. It was really lean and it idled near 300 rpms. However, i did clean up my old MAF and it stopped throwing codes and stoped making my car run like poo. Gotta love the free fixes! The dealer was trying to convince me that my mods were screwing my whole car up and how the reason that the MAF wasn't working is that i have a K&N fipk on it.....i just laughed at him. He told me unless i took it back to stock that they wouldn't even think about working on it, and i told him that i really did not want them working on it anyway...so yeah, dealers suck.

You can't just toss the LS1 MAF on there. You need to edit your MAF table in the PCM to match the table for the LS1 sensor. You need LT1_Edit or Tunercat and then you can easily run the LS1 MAF.

Or you can give it to me; I wouldn't mind having an LS1 MAF in my car.

I can't sell it any more. My friend wants to save it just in case his Z06 MAF that he has on the car fails in the future.
