LS1 Intake on an LT1

Alright I had somebody tell me a while back you could mount an LS1 intake on an LT1, i somewhat tried but saw it wasnt happening without some significant mods so i gave up. Can this be done? If so would anybody mind giving me some pointers, Im ready to sell this intake but if theres a way to get it on my car id be happier doing the work. Im looking to put an Ultra Z hood on so that should give me the room I need but as far as sensors and things like that will it all work out, or am i wasting my time and just going to screw something up... APPRECIATE IT!!!

Unless someone has a better answer, I didnt really see a point to do it otherwise with the exception of less heat soak. I would surmise it would require a sheet metal template then mount it...

I would just sell it. imo.

For clarification can someone tell me if you guys are refering to the air intake, or the intake manifold. I know the LS1 intake manifold will not fit our cars, and I know that the LS1 air intake will fit with some modifications. But by the look of some of the responses given here, I am not sure any of us really know which we are talking about...because both have been discussed b4.

I would have to agree with you 89. If it's an intake manifold, It will not fit, PERIOD. If it's an air intake, like say a K&N or even a stocker, it can be made to fit but you do have to run a different hood. Stock hoods will not fit.

Re: LS1 Intake on an LT1

Well the bolts do line up, but my main question is what about whatever sensor is about 3/4 of an inch round and is located on/in the Elbow on our Lt1 but on the LS1 intake there is a hole drilled in the plastic for it. Is this sensor Not important..... thats my main concern is dealing with those. And to answer the question of WHY BOTHER.... I had heard that "Ram Air" setup would be better than the stock one which takes the cool air for a ride through the engine bay before entering the intake manifold itself.
