LS1 catback on '96 LT1

OK, I should know this, but I don't. Will the catback from a 1998-2002 LS1 car fit on my 1996 B4C (OBDII, California car)? I've been under the impression that the exhaust system didn't change much (pipes, muffler, etc) on the 4th gens, and that the sound difference in the LS1 is due to firing order, etc.

Any thoughts? There is a local guy here at work selling a new LS1 catback; wondering if it will fit my LT1...

My Loudmouth is an LS1 catback (I got it before they started making the ones for LT1s). No alteration was necessary. I don't know if it is different for other catbacks.

Thanks for the reply. That is good news...
Anyone else have any experience, maybe with the stock Z28 exhausts (putting LS1 catback on LT1)?

well this may help, but it also may not. The SLP Loudmouth kits are all made to fit LS1 cars. but they sell adaptor kits for the LT1. for a 93-94 its like $40 and for 95-97 its like $70 i think, or sutmhin like that. it may fit it may not. my guess it that it will b close, but not fit exactly. i dont have much experience here, but im sure ppl w/ more experience than me while chime in, im just adding my $.02 and tryin to do my part, lol. good luck. at the least a good exhaust shop near u could make the exhuast fit if it doesn't bolt right up and fit nice.
