LS1 Brakes-No differece between old lt1 brakes

I just got done installing LS1 brakes and they dont seem to brake any better. I have only tested on city street though. Shouldnt I feel them at low speeds too? I used Brute Stop pads on my lt1 calipers and I have what are suppose to be good pads(the guy I bought them from said they were good and he does autoX and I know him he is a reputatble guy) on the LS1 calipers. I had a second person bleeding the brakes with me(someone who has done it before). Why am I not seeing and difference?

I think the LS1's are better at higher speed and after repeated stops. I'm doing the same mod but I'm still waiting for my new brake hoses to come in. Besides there is still snow here.

I just installed mine 2 weeks ago and the difference is definitely noticable. Try doing a higher-speed stop and you should see the difference. I agree driving around town you wouldn't see that big a difference. FYI if the brakes aren't bled right they'll feel spongy.

I dont think they are spongy. Maybe I need to take my bros Formula for a drive to compare. Right now I am really dissappointed. I havent driven my car since August due to a car crash(in my old s-10) that really fed me up BAD. And now I take my car out for the first spin of the season to test the brakes that I had to endure alot of pain doing (my body just isnt as strong as it use to be) and I dont even see an improvement. Then the real kicker is somehow while my car sat for the winter I forgot to renew the tabs....hence why i didnt hit the highway, I just went around the block. And Im not within a 10 day grace period either....they expired in Febuary, I dont really know how that happened. Im just pissed right now

I don't think its that big of a difference in NORMAL driving where it really plays a part is hard stops. I've been driving stupid and had to stop from a 100 and with the LT1 brakes it is DOWNRIGHT SCARY!!!! The LS1 work much better realize its still a heavy car and you don't have 14 inch rotor with 6 pistion Brembos. But it is much better than Lt1

I also notice it at the end of the 1/4 at the track. It was a bit of a beast with new LT1 calipers, powerslot rotors, and PF pads to stop now it is much better with just the gm performance pads.
