LS1 brakes on an LT1?
LS1 brakes on an LT1?
I was told that you can put ls1 brakes on your lt1 car and get better brakes because the ls1's are two piston and the lt1's are on piston calipers. Is this true? Is there anything else that you would need from the ls1 car? Brakets lines anything like that?
Thanks in advance.

There should be a ton of info in that search...a lot of people have done this conversion.

Re: LS1 brakes on an LT1?
Just be careful. When getting used brakes from auto dismantlers(ebay)A lot of them come bent and dont alighn right. I paid $189 for my complete set, but had to replace one knuckle. I also went with Irotors and Wagner thermo quiet pads. Made a huge differnce.
Re: LS1 brakes on an LT1?
Try to get the complete crossover set. Knuckles, calipers, rotors and brake lines. If you use the LS1 line you will need to bend the bracket that holds it(easy) Also before installing them clean them and throw on a coat of caliper paint and paint the knuckles.
Fparts or TNautoparts sell the complete set for around $180-200

Re: LS1 brakes on an LT1?
all you need is the spindles, calipers, rotors, and lines. i used wagners with my lt1 brakes and when i swapped i stuck with wagners, so as far i am concerned that should be pretty good for comparison purposes. DAY AND NIGHT difference between the lt1's and ls1's. it is to the point now were i dont like driving my girlfriends car (95 z28) because the brakes SUCK!!
