Anyone got opinions on the two, i'll be ordering one or the other. Do you have either? what do you like/dislike about them? Thanks in advance.

I've heard that cai's all produce close to the same hp. I would just go with which one you think looks better/ or cost wise.

Yea I also went through a similar question and decided on the LPE. LPE is cheaper and they both have the same hp gain. Also the LPE has a huge air filter, bigger then the 2 SLP filters. I think the LPE K&N air filter compairs to like a 2.0L pepsi bottle on the size. Good luck

I like the LPE...I've had mine since 1995 and it still works/looks great. I like the fact that it looks more factory and fits very well...

Re: LPE Vs SLP CAI's

I got the lpe and love it. I can even hear the engine suckin air thru the filter. When you shut the car off its like it takes its last breath, you hear one final big gulp!. I think the slp unit mounts the filter in the engine bay. You get hot air that way. Also the slp unit is metal which will get a lot hotter than the molded plastic and that'll keep the air charge less dense also.

I just saw an slp CAI. I think it does mount the filters outside the engine bay. Just wanted to clarify and not mislead

Re: LPE Vs SLP CAI's

I had the SLP on a car. I think the SLP looks the best of all the aftermarket cai's but its a pain if you need to remove the intake to do work on your car. I bought a used Moroso for my latest car and like the fact you can remove the plastic intake without having to remove the filters from the bottom. The SLP is all one piece and you have to get under the car and remove the filters to get it out of the way, THe moroso filter bolts to a metal plate that can stay in the car.
