lower alternator bracket

just got my lower alternator bracket from SJM, machine polished one...and I must say that it got here in like 3 days and the bracket looks very nice. comes with all the hardware needed, belt, spacers, etc...

alternator looks really good sittin down low and it has really cleaned up the engine compartment! this has to be the coolest part (right next to my flameball light up shifter ****) on my car!!!

thanks SJM!

Re: lower alternator bracket

Is that something that can be done with an AC! instead of getting an ac delete pulley? I'm planning on yanking the ac this spring (dash controller died again) and would also like to stick the alt down low.

Re: lower alternator bracket

it actually depends on what your running....

this lower alt bracket that sjm has designed is for no use of no ac AND no power steering. there is a couple different style brackets you can buy for a non-ac car With power steering while still keeping the alternator below everything else.

i use to have an ac delete pulley if you would like that (its for sale...cheap) but that doesnt put the alternator in a different location.

Re: lower alternator bracket

That's pretty nice but I just can't see spending that amount of money. If you have the tools you can modify the existing bracket and make two brackets approx $10 and get the same thing. Don't get me wrong it's a nice piece just a little to pricey for me.

Here is my modified bracket.

Re: lower alternator bracket

I had my doubts about using the tensioner until today. Just got my 355 together and had a private test session at the track. Had no problems at all, spinning the motor to 7K.
