Re: Low Res

Why don't you find out what's killing it and fix the cause instead of the symptom?

Does anyone know the website for the optispark that shows the detailed pics of the opti getting torn down?

Has a diagram of the opti and all the internals. I'm also getting low res on mine but I also haven't finished my plugs and wires yet so we'll see after there done. I'll let you know how that pans out.

Re: Low Res

Sounds like your cap and rotor went out. You might want to look into the Delteq/LTCC systems. It might save you some money and time in the future.

Re: Low Res

I think it would be a smart idea to spend some time finding what's causing the problem, rather than keep replacing parts. Lacking any info on the year of your car, and no other info than its blown..... do you have a vented Opti and how is the vent system hooked up, to avoid overpressuring the Opti with the boost?

Re: Low Res

Re: Low Res

Well I seen that the cause could have been low battery charge in the battery. I was starting the car with the alt off to adjust the rockers. I have a new harness. Going to check all the connections and charge the battery completly and hook the opti up and see what comes out of it. The guys said the low res and high res was fine he tested it with a olethascope(sp). If nothing i try works i guess its time to buy a new cap and rotor.

Re: Low Res

How can anyone help you if you don't give us the symptoms of the problem. You've already proved the feedback portion works. Why do you keep thinking the opti is bad?????

And how does a low battery effect it if someone has already said it was good?

Re: Low Res

I had this on 3 "new" opti's I put in, they would only go bad ie. throw a
high or low res code, after they heated up.

4th one was a charm, running 1+ year on it with no problems.

2nd one cost me the most, as it heated up on the first test drive,
threw what I found was both a high and low res code, and the engine
died, while I was going around a corner, long short, I crashed into the
curb and busted both wheels on the pass. side.

just cause it test good doens't mean it's good all the time.
most opti issues happed when they get hot.

I notice you changed your signature NOW to remove the blower. Do you have any idea how frustrating it is to people to find out they tried to help someone, and essentially wasted their time because the information provided in the initial post was incorrect. It's extremely inconsiderate.
