Do I need to have the low oil sending unit installed in the oil pan (by the oil drain plug)? Is it wired to the PCM? I am not using a low oil light of any kind, since it is a lt1 swapped into a truck.

I just resealed the motor's front end and got rid of all my leaks, but not it seems that about a month later the low oil sending unit starts to leak badly. If I do need it, would someone mind giving me the part number for a 94 lt1.

If I dont need it, does anyone know what threads are in there so I can get the appropriate plug. Thanks in advance.

 

The oil level sensor only feeds the gauge cluster. Sorry, I don't know what the threads are.

 

Cool, I am gonna pull it out tomorrow and see if I can match the threads up. If I cant find anything I guess I will just get a new sending unit and leave it unhooked so that atleast it wont leak.
