low oil pressure maybe??

i have done some searches on here and found out a little about the stock oil pressure. well when my engine is cold the oil pressure is around 35-40 ( at idle) and when its warm at idle it points to what i beleieve is dangerously low, right above the 0 mark, and sometimes my CHECK GAUGES light comes on and i see my pressure is at o so i put it in neutral and rev it a little and it goes back up to about 10.

i have heard this maybe bad bearings, bad oil pump, bad sending unit...

what is the problem guys thanks alot

low oil pressure

before my lt1 bent a rod my oil pressure went down in to red above 0
when we tore it down cam bearings were wore out and the cam was wasted and all the rods bearings were wasted.
funny thing was the mains were fine .how many miles on your car
and did you run it hard

If it's almost zero and the check gauges light comes on, I'd think you would be hearing lifter noise if the pressure was indeed that low. You can try putting a mechanical gauge on and seeing if the pressure really is that low. What weight oil you use?

How do you use a mechanical guage??? my oil pressure sensor is just above the oil filter. i know this because i have replaced it. i run 5w-30 oil in it with a FRAM oil filter. i have done some searches and i heard that fram is a bad choice, if so why?? or is it just opinion?? thanks

will have to get gage and some fittings so you can hook ti up and most gages come with some of this but you will have to take your sending unit off hook the meck gage up their
were the old one was and if you use plastic line keep it away from heat and sharp edges

so is the sending unit and the sensor the same thing?? i changed the sensor last summer cuz my gauge was going crazy and it seemed to fix the gauge problem. so i just take the sensor off and put the mechanical one there?? do i just let it hang out there while i drive the car??? this is a little foreign to me so please help. thanks

the sending unit you take it off and hook up gage line their and i would put the gage in the car so you can see what it is doing. also the gage will
