low oil pressure on gauge

I just finished a clutch job, after start up I noticed the oil pressure gauge reading very low. I think it might be a false reading. I did have to tilt the engine back against the firewall to get the trans back in. Is it possible that I damaged the unit while doing this? Has anyone experienced a low reading from a damaged unit? How do I test it? What type of gauge/ fitting do I need? Help, I don't want to burn up my engine. BTW, the engine runs very quiet no ticking or knocking.

You broke the oil pressure sending unit when you tilted the block back.. I did the same thing on my old TA when I did the clutch.. kind of a pain to replace but as long as its not leaking then it wont hurt anything..

You might be able to get at it by laying across the front of the car with a wrench or from underneath if you have someone with small arms (mine wouldnt fit). Funny thing is on mine if you held it with your hand in place it would read fine so maybe JB weld could fix it if you dont want to buy a new one..
