I've noticed that when i'm driving in 6th gear, cruising around 55-60mph that my oil pressure gauge shows it A LITTLE ABOVE the first white mark. whatever that indicates. As soon as i speed up or downshift it jumps up 1/2 way on the gauge or higher. it has never gotten into the red lines either high or low. Is this normal or what is causing this. my 95' just turned 65,000 miles. Someone told me to run 10w30 in the car instead of 5w30 and that that would help keep the pressure up. He said it's just because the motor is getting some miles on it. Anyone know about this????

 

I would say your friend is correct. Unless the tick falls into the red or under 20 PSI at idle warmed up, I would not worry too much about it. What kind of oil are u using, dino or synthetic? If you're not comfortable with your pressure do as your friend suggested and put in thicker oil.
