LOW oil pressure

I get low oil pressure after the car has runs and gets hot sitting in city traffic even after a oil change. But in small town driving its fine. Whats the deal. Am I looking at a rebuild sooon. This weekend it dropped to in the RED and the check gauges light cam on everytime I stopped at a light. Once I start moving the car is fine. The car just turned to 117K on the clock. It runs really strong because Im still eating rustangs up. This just concerns me because it seems weird for the oil pressure to do that sitting in hot city traffic and not all the time.

Re: LOW oil pressure

Try a new oil pressure sensor, first. They can give low readings when they get old.

Re: LOW oil pressure

What is your definition of old. Mine reads kinda low and I just replaced the pump. I have almost 165K on the clock. Thanks!

Newbie97, go to http://shbox.com He has a great web site, with lots of part #'s too.
