Low Oil Pressure

What could a low oil pressure at idle be a sign of or what could be the reason for it.

When cold started the oil pressure is healthy at the mid mark of the oil gauge. When the car worms up and the temp reaches 195 *F, the oil pressure drops to less than 1/4 the mark on the gauge.

The oil pressure rises as the engine is revved and then drops again if it's idling.

The engine is cammed, crane cam 272/284 duration, and runs rough with idle RPM around 600-750RPM. Could the cam cause the low oil pressure at idle. Sometimes, the check gauges sign goes on if the oil pressure drops to near zero and the engine is almost stalled.

It's not the LT1 engine. Any help is appreciated, though.

It's probably the Oil Pressure sensor, mine has the exact same problems, some say when the sensor heats up it goes nuts...i'm gonna buy a new sensor and see what happens....

My 96 Z does the exact same thing. I talked to my mechanic who has dealt with many camaros and he says that it's normal. It doesn't need that much oil pressure at low rpms. It can, however, be adjusted to read higher if it will make you feel better, but there's really no point since nothing is wrong in the first place.

i had the same problem. when cold good presure but when warmed up it droped bad at idle like almost zero like you said. i looked into this and i was told that the gauges are bad like they said above. so i got a differnt preausre gauge and checked it out and my preasure was still low so then all i could think of was bad bearings so i rip out my engine and sure enough it was the bearings warn down. so i would be careful!
